Almost ready for grass!

After months of prep work, our backyard was ready to be trenched and Wednesday we got it trenched! Tuesday we bought all of our sprinkler supplies and this Saturday we get to start puting our sprinklers in! We are so excited! We are that much closer to having a yard and grass! Eventually we would like to be in our yard without getting dusty, dirty, or muddy! Bailey especially would like that. We have found some priceless treasures in our yard, such as rebar, asphalt, lots of garbage, large chunks of concrete, and many, many rocks!

Our weather has been really nice lately so we like to get out for family walks in the evenings. This is a picture of little SWB after one of our walks!
Lately if Bailey is tired she will go upstairs and put herself to bed. This is an example. Saturday morning we did lots of running around and by the afternoon she was exhausted!

So the other day I was running on our treadmill and after I was done running I heard Bailey saying, "Mom, I am ready to get out!" I couldn't figure out where she was. I was hoping she was on the potty as we have been trying to encourage her to go potty in the toilet, but she wasn't on the potty. So I said, "Bailey you are ready to get of where?" To which she replied, "I'm ready to get out of Spency's bed." The funny girl had climbed into her brother's bed and couldn't get herself out!
I just thought this picture was priceless. It might be a little more if they weren't in their pajamas, but nonetheless this was such a cute photo opp!

Memorial Day!

Our Family had a fun weekend! Sunday was my birthday and it was a great day! At first Bailey refused to say Happy Birthday to me. She is so funny! For some reason she hates the Happy Birthday song and screams and cries whenever we sing it! She is making progress though. By the end of the day she was singing Happy Birthday! Spencer was so great! He got the children ready for church and prepared and cooked dinner! We had dinner at and spent the night at Spencer's sister's house which is about 45 minutes away from our house. She made a delicious spinach salad and the strawberry cake you see above. I love Strawberry cake! The next morning we went with Spener's sister and her family to Jeremiah's. Jeremiah's is a restaurant in Ogden. They have great breakfasts. We were all going to go hiking after breakfast but we had lots and lots of rain, which prevented us from hiking. We sure enjoyed our weekend with family. Bailey sure gets excited to see and spend time with her cousins and Aunt Kris and Uncle Ben. Thank you Ashcrofts for a fun weekend!

Sunday night the kids did sparklers. Bailey was a little unsure at first, but seemed to enjoy it.

Big weekend!

This is our back yard! Isn't it a pretty sight! We just had cement poured so we could have somewhat of a patio. When we bought our house the only "patio" it had was the little cement slab you see under the stairs. It was 4 feet wide and 11 feet long. So we had two 10 x 11 slabs poured. We are enjoying it!
We were finally able to get Spencer's trailer with all of his lawn equipment up here, with help from my mom, and he is so glad to have it here. We had to borrow tools to work in our yard before we got his stuff here and it was driving him crazy. Bailey was having a good time riding on the lawn mower with her dad! I just thought this was a cute picture of little SWB!
This is the day of his blessing! My mom got this cute little Amish outfit for Spence to be blessed in! It was perfect and a perfect fit!
This was Sunday evening after little SWB's blessing. Bailey had a full weekend of family, cousins soccer games, working in the yard and church. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep right on the kitchen floor! She is still catching up on sleep!

This last Sunday we blessed little Spence. It was a great weekend. Spencer's dad and brothers came from AZ and so did my mom. It was great to have them all here and spend some time with them. We are grateful for their love and support and their willingness to come up for little SWB's blessing! Saturday everyone was kind enough to help us prep our yard to be trenched for sprinklers. We raked, picked weeds, and picked up lots of rocks! We can't wait until our yard is in and we have grass! I am so tired of dirt, rocks, and weeds!

Bailey is really enjoying her role as big sister. She is always so helpful. She always wants to hug, kiss, and hold her brother.

This morning Bailey wanted 3 pony tails and this is what her hair looked like today! Little Spence has started to coo and can be quite chatty. I had forgotten how fun it is to hear little babies coo.

Little Spence is the spitting image of his father!

I was looking at Spencer's baby pictures and little Spence looks quite a bit like his father! At least I think so. However, little Spence has quite a bit more hair than his father!
I just thought this was such a cute picture of Bailey! I can't believe how fast she is growing!

Yard Work and updates of baby SWB!

Spencer and I are very envious of anyone who gets to mow a lawn instead of putting one in. In the pictures these are the rock piles that I have raked so that we can then sift out the dirt and get rid of the rock. What a process this is! Unfortunately I need Spencer's help to shovel the rocks onto the sifter, the rocks are way too heavy for me! However, I am trying to be helpful so that Spence doesn't have to do it all by himself! Our yard reminds me of the movie "Holes." Thanks a bunch to the Ashcrofts for letting us borrow their rake, shovel, sifter, and wheel barrow until Spencer's yard stuff makes it up here!

Little Spencer is growing so fast. We went to the doctor on Thursday and he is already 10 pounds 15 ounces at 4 weeks. A drastic difference from Bailey. He is such a sweet baby and a great sleeper! Bailey has been in Arizona the last two weeks with my sister-in-law (thanks Jan) and with my mom (thanks mom). She has been having a great time with her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, but we are quite anxious to have her home. Our days have been a little lonely. She comes home this Thursday! Yea!

Bailey loves her role as big sister!

Baiely is enjoying her new role as big sister. Monday I was getting some house-work done so Bailey took it upon herself to entertain Spence. She pulled her guitar over and was playing it for Spence. She also loves to help him with his pacifier. She puts it in his mouth and once he starts sucking on it she pulls it out. What a helpful sister. She sure loves to look at him and kiss him and the minute he starts crying she tells me I need to help him. (On a side note, as far as her clothing choice is concerned in this picture, we were going through her clothes that day and she saw this cute little shirt and wanted to wear it after she was already dressed. Typically, we are working on wearing clothes that match.)

He's a Champ!

We came home from the hospital on March 14 and we are doing great! My mom has been up here helping me and what a blessing it has been to have her up here! She is doing everything! The shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and entertaining Bailey! We are really enjoying having her up here! We will be sad to lose her tomorrow!

Between my mom and Spencer I am getting lots of rest, they are taking good care of me.

Little Spence is a Champ! He is such a good baby. So mild mannered and calm, much different from his sister! He is so patient with me. He is even sleeping through the nights! Last night he was up at 12 and 4 to eat and went right back to sleep! I am really, really blessed.

Bailey is liking her brother much more than she thought. She is very protective of him and always so curious as to what he is doing. She got to hold him for the first time yesterday and was very excited! In the pictures you can see she has some sores on her lower lip so she can't hold, touch, hug and kiss him as much as she would like. She has limited contact until her lip heals! We are loving having little Spence at our house! He is such a sweet addition to our family and such a blessing!

HE IS HERE!!!

Well the newest memeber of the Brimley Family has arrived. Spencer Winchell Brimley arrived at 3:25 pm on March the 12th 2008. We feel so blessed with this new addtition. Mom and baby are doing well and quite content and relieved. Spencer came in at a whopping 9 lbs even and 22 inches long. Steph made quick work of this delivery and is now enjoying a little more comfort. Thanks for all your love and support during this time, we love you all and look forward to seeing everyone.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!

Well we are here! Today is the day and that we are going to have our new addition. We are very excited, the doctor is telling us we will have our new bundle today!! Thanks for every ones love and support during this time. We love you all and will update you when we can!!!

Pretty as a Princess!

Bailey was a flower girl in by brother's wedding, which is where this dress came from! She was so excited that she got to wear this dress to church yesterday! In fact she wanted to wear it again today! She felt like a princess!

March 12 is the day!

I just got back from the doctor and found out some scary/exciting news about when our baby will be coming. The doctor asked me what I wanted to do the last couple weeks of my pregnancy. Meaning did I want to schedule the induction. I told him it didn't matter to me and that my only concern was the baby being too large to deliver if we went over my due date or waited for me to go into labor by myself. So he looked at his calendar and gave me 2 options. We could schedule the induction for Tuesday March 11 or Wednesday March 12. I chose the 12Th. So, Spencer and I will be going to the hospital at 7 am March 12 and I will be induced. I really hope this baby is ready to come then! I don't want to rush him. This is so foreign to me because my last doctor wouldn't schedule an induction for me until I hit 41 weeks! I then asked him how big he thought the baby would be if he was already measuring 7 pounds. He said only about 7 1/2 or 8 pounds. I am feeling better about the size of our baby. I had previously heard that during your last 4 weeks the baby can gain about 1 pound per week so that's why I was thinking this baby would be so big. Apparently I was misinformed! Thank goodness!

Baby Update!

I went to the doctor today and found out that our baby is already measuring about 7 pounds! I am astounded because I still have 3 1/2 weeks left until my due date and Bailey was 7 lbs 7 oz when she was born and she was a week late. I am so glad this baby is growing, but I don't want him to get too big! The doctor says everything looks normal and that the baby could come anytime now. I'm not holding my breath though! I don't think this baby will come until at least my due date! Spencer doesn't have much time left to decide our baby's name. Thanks for all your input on the name!

How Bailey makes her bed!

The other morning I told Bailey we needed to make her bed and she instantly scolded that she was going to do it all herself! So I said okay and went and made my bed. She then hollered that she was done and this is the final product. She was so cute about it and really tried that I didn’t have the heart to tell her we needed to remake the bed. So I said okay, good job and put her in the bath!

My new coat!

Bailey's Aunt Jana and Uncle Sean are always thinking of her. They saw this coat and thought Bailey would love it! She does love her new coat and was very excited to see and wear it! I think I was equally excited about her new coat! We love leaopard print!

Warming Up!

It has been warmer this week and is supposed to be in the 40's all week! The sun is out and it is actually really nice to be outside! Because the sun has been out and it's been a bit warmer Bailey has been able to enjoy playing in the snow. The boy in the pictures with Bailey is our neighbor. He and Bailey love to play together and we are sure glad that Bailey has a friend next door! He is a sweet little boy and we sure love him!

Back to Utah!

Bailey got a kitchen for Christmas, which she calls her "Chicken." She loves it! It was waiting for her when we got home and she was so excited. She loves to make us cookies and bring us juice. We had a few storms while we were gone, so lucky Spence got to shovel our walk-ways and drive way.

Bailey is enjoying the snow. However, she doesn't enjoy putting on her snow clothes, particularly her snow boots!
