Before I forget to write it down:
SWBy is a Sunbeam now and I was nervous for the transition because he LOVED nursery! However, his teacher is so cute with him that he's been doing great. I serve in Primary so it's fun to see Bay and SWBy during sharing and singing time. They are so cute! I told SWBy because he is a big boy now he gets to be a Sunbeam. So one day he's telling me..."Mom, I'm a Capri Sun now because I am a bigger boy!" It took me a minute to figure out what he was saying but I got it. So now after Sacrament Meeting we tell SWBy it's time to go to Capri Sun's! I think he got confused because I bought some Capri Sun's for the kids that week. One week during Sharing Time he went up to his teacher and asked, "When is this going to be over?" Never do we have to wonder what our children are thinking...they just come right out and say it! In December SWBy began a speech class to work on his k and g sounds. He loves it and has gotten so much better!
Bailey got a note a couple of weeks ago from a boy in her Primary class. It was a heart and in the heart it said...I love you, Bailey. I think Bay just thought he was being nice and didn't read into it at all. Oh the innocence of a 6 year old! At the beginning of the school year a little boy in her kindergarten class told her she was "hot" and I should have said..."oh were you sweaty?" But she already knew what "hot" meant. This same boy told her she was beautiful and he liked her. I just kept telling her to be nice but that it's not appropriate. Luckily we went to Disneyland for a week and by the time we got back this little boy in her Kindergarten class told her it was a big joke he was playing on her that he liked her. Her response: "I don't know what joke I'm going to do to get back at him!" I'm glad she believed it was a joke because all the attention from this boy was starting to make her uncomfortable. Now they are great friends. I was floored at how young these little crushes start...I didn't think we'd have to start worrying about this stuff until much later! She LOVES school and is doing really well. We just went to her parent teacher conference and it was so cute to watch and see Bay and her teacher dialogue back and forth in Spanish!
Maddy really is a great baby! She just rolls with it! Goes with the flow...no worries for her! However, she is getting quite an opinion about things. She hates when I do her hair...so does Bailey. I was hoping to have one easy one but it looks like doing hair will forever be my challenge with my girls! Spencer told me maybe Bay was sent first to prepare me for what a nightmare hair time is going to be with Maddy! Oh Great! She knows just how to push SWBy's buttons. A lot of my day I hear SWBy say, "Mom...Maddy is bothering me!" She can do that just by looking at him! She LOVES to steal his sippy and it drives him CRAZY! When he leaves his sippy somewhere because he has to do something else he is always so worried Maddy will "get" his sippy! It's pretty entertaining for me! Maddy loves SWBy's toys and this makes him crazy too! Maddy loves to be chased. I think her favorite thing to do though...is wait for it to be dead silent in church and then start chattering or screaming. She finds it so fun! Maddy says dad, dadda, mom, momma. She loves to see her dad sitting on the stand in Sacrament Meeting or when he's conducting the meeting and yell "Dad!" She says, "Hi ya" a lot. She loves to play peek a boo and when she moves her hands so we can see her face after we ask, "Where's Maddy?" she'll say, "There she is!" She loves the ABC song and learned to say the letter S this week. She loves most music and clapping and singing and the Happy Birthday song and loves to ask, "What's that?" Bailey asked that all the time too when she was little like Maddy!
Now that I've wrtten all that down on to my update!!! Will time every slow down?!!! I'm pretty sure the older you get the faster time moves by! Again, I can't believe it's already February and another Christmas has come and gone. We had such a fun Christmas and New Year's Eve. Spencer's entire family came to Utah for Christmas this year! It was great! We didn't have to travel and we still got to see all of them! Thank you for making the trip to Utah, we love it! Unfortunately, for some of our Arizona family we didn't have a White Christmas...I didn't mind but I remember when we lived in Arizona it would be fun to go somewhere where we could have a White Christmas. However, after living here a few years now, the longer the snow stays away the better for me!
We began our Christmas festivities with a Murder Mystery Dinner Party at our house! It was great, long and a huge group but fun, fun, fun! Our theme was a 1930's cruise ship!
Here are some of our players!
Here Spencer and I are the host & hostess. Spencer was "Captain Bill Bashem' Badleigh" and I was "Lady Needa Fortune."
We made sugar cookies for Santa. The kids always get so excited to use the cookie cutters.

Re-enacting the Nativity is tradition in our family. This year was fun because we had so many that could participate. Above are our cute angels. Bailey and her cousins.
Here are all of our characters at the end of the Nativity. We had lots of costumes this year. My sister-in-law has quite a few and my mom sent me a bunch of Nativity costumes this year. It was great!
Here is our cute little Lamb Maddy. She was the cutest lamb ever!
Here is my niece the Shepherd tending to her lost little lamb (Maddy) that was tired and just wanted to go to bed! The 2 of them were so cute together!
My sister-in-law Lanae always made Christmas PJ's for the nieces and nephews. It has always been something my children look forward to. They love their PJ's from Aunt Nae. Since her passing my other sister-in-law Shelly took over the project and what a nice job she did. Thank you Shelly...the kids love their Christmas PJ's!
Here are all the kids in their cute Christmas PJ's!
Yea!!! Christmas morning! Apparently I was a little slow with the camera because I took very few pictures of kids opening presents! Here they've just woken up and gotten their Santa gifts and stockings. It was very exciting!!!
Spencer and I got Bay and SWBy scooters for Christmas this year! Bay has wanted a scooter for a while now so she was really excited! They LOVE their scooters and we often have to gear up for the cold weather so they can go ride their scooters!
Here I am Christmas Day at my sister-in-law's home with family watching the kids ride their new bikes and scooters!
The 26Th for Family Night we went to see the Temple Lights on Temple Square! Here are Maddy and Spence.

My mom came up the 26Th to see us and spent a couple days with us! She timed her drive just right and met us at Temple Square for family night!
Mom and me!
December 30Th we got word that my last living grandparent wasn't doing very well. So about 9pm on the 30Th I drove down to St. George so I could see my Grandma one last time. We were planning on driving through St. George the following Tuesday on January 3rd but I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see her one last time and express my love and appreciation for her if she didn't make it. I'm so glad I drove down and got to visit with her New Year's Eve because she died in the early morning on Jan 3rd so I would have missed seeing her had I waited. I love her so much...she was always so kind and welcoming and always made you feel good about yourself. I always felt like I was the best person in the world when I was around my Grandma because that's the way she made me feel!
Here is my dad, my Aunt, and my Uncle! I just love them! It was a bitter sweet day. So fun to see family but hard to lose grandma.
Bay is in a little cheer class and they had a performance a couple of weeks ago. This is Bailey during dress rehearsal. She was so scared and nervous...we had to coax her into doing the dress rehearsal. After the rehearsal she told me her legs were shaking and she thought that the dress rehearsal was the actual performance...so when it was time to actually perform she got so worked up that she didn't perform. Next time I need to be very clear on how things will work so she will know what to expect!
Happy as a clam because she didn't realize her performance wasn't over!
Here is Bailey with her cute friends that are in her class!
This picture was too cute not to capture. Maddy LOVES to drink from SWby's sippy (this bugs SWBy to no end!) and she was carrying her bottle around. Drink from one then switch and drink from the other! Maddy is 15 months and yes I still give her a bottle in the morning and at night. My other 2 were cut off from their bottles at 13 months, but because Maddy has been drinking from a cup, straw, and sippy since she was about 10 months old I have not gotten rid of the bottle. I completely got rid of the bottle with Bay and SWBy so they would learn to drink from a sippy. It was a painful transition for them. But Maddy picked right up on it, which made me so happy that I wouldn't have to go through the rough transistion of switching from bottle to sippy. I can only hope and pray that our potty training transistion is a delightful as our bottle to sippy transition!!!
